How these signals work

every rule runs client-side on the raw daily series
Signal 01

RSI 14 (overbought / oversold)

The Relative Strength Index scores how one-sided the last 14 trading days were, from 0 to 100. Above 70 means buyers have been doing almost all the pushing (overbought, rallies often cool off). Below 30 means sellers are exhausted (oversold, bounces get built here). We flag early from 65 and 35.

Signal 02

20/50-day moving-average crossover

We track the 20-day and 50-day average closing price. When the fast line crosses above the slow one (a golden cross), medium-term momentum has flipped bullish. Crossing below (a death cross) flips it bearish. The fresher the cross, the stronger we score it.

Signal 03

52-week range proximity

Price pressing its 52-week high is strength that tends to attract more buyers; new highs are a classic breakout setup. Price sitting on its 52-week low is a breakdown watch. We flag anything within 1% of either edge, and note fresh highs and lows the day they print.

Signal 04

Unusual volume

We compare the latest session's share volume to that ticker's own 30-day average, prorating if the session is still open. At 1.8x average, someone big is active. At 2.5x, it is exceptional and price usually follows the flow within days.

Signal 05

Momentum (1 day / 5 days / 1 month)

Outsized moves keep drawing attention. Any name up or down more than 8% on the month gets a momentum flag, scored higher past 12% and 20%. A single-day move beyond 2.5% is flagged too, because for liquid large caps and ETFs that is a genuinely unusual session.

Data

Where the numbers come from

Daily candles come from Yahoo Finance's public chart API, requested through this site so your browser never talks to a third party. If the feed rate-limits, the page falls back to your last cached scan, then to a bundled snapshot, so it never goes blank. The status pill top-left always tells you which one you are looking at.
